July 13 –
Helen Hagerty and Sweet Sixteen
Vocalist and flutist Helen Hagerty leads a group of the area’s most outstanding musicians through a great mix of swing, blues, jazz and Latin. Skilled vocal chops combined with a smoldering rhythm section create a magical sound and feel.
July 20 –
Canta Brasil Quintet
Canta Brasil Quintet blends Brazilian beats, reggae rhythms and jazz sensibilities to create a melodic mix rooted in South America. Audiences won’t forget this eclectic mix of world music right here in Columbus.
August 3 –
Eileen Howard Band
Known as one of the most creative vocalists to hit the local jazz scene, Eileen Howard’s voice has been described by fans as a mix of the sophisticated tones of Ella Fitzgerald with the pizzazz of Diane Schuur and the sultry passion of Diana Krall.
August 10 –
Actual Proof with Jeanette Williams
Columbus native Jeanette Williams has performed not only with Hank Marr, Rusty Bryant, and Sarah Vaughn, but also with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra and Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Williams’ rich and powerful voice—influenced by roots in gospel and blues—makes her a jazz singer of remarkable talent.
August 17 –
The Vipers / Adrienne Hindmarsh Trio
A native of New Zealand, Adrienne Hindmarsh’s sultry vocals have been compared to Norah Jones and Eva Cassidy. In addition to her gift of song, she brings the Hammond B3 organ to life with her unique skill on the footpedal bass and her use of dynamic chords.
August 24 –
Lisa Webster and Friends
Lisa Webster has performed with Vaughn Wiester and his Famous Jazz Orchestra, Yumbambe’, and the Standard Time Quintet with Matt Ellis. Now leading her own group, her jazz trio includes Eric Augis on the piano, bassist Matt Paetsch, and Shane Willis on the drums.
